In 2023, TubeLab will be commemorating a decade of providing invaluable insights to hundreds of thousands of YouTube creators, marketers, and agencies across the globe.
Looking back...
Let’s take this opportunity to take a look back at the history of this simple website, it all began when I had the need to find the rank of my youtube videos for specific keywords and all the tools available were for Google only, and worse, they were paid. I set out to get a tool to solve this problem in late 2013 and here was the result in 2014:
Youtube Rank Checker in 2014The tool gained a consistent amount of users and there were plenty of incentive messages to keep working on it which resulted in a second iteration made by Tameem Safi, a developer that gave me a lot of motivation and guidance in the early stages of my “career”, this was the tool by the end of 2015:
Youtube Rank Checker in 2015Fast forward one year, I kept learning web development and developed the next version, made with Vue JS, and the longest standing version of the tool, until then. This was when the YTrank brand was introduced.
Youtube Rank Checker in 2017In 2019 there was a major redesign, the application was rebuilt from scratch with new features such as:
- Previously searched videos were saved - no need to re-type the form to get your video’s rank, its all saved up in local storage.
- Video rank page - there was a new page that allowed you to find a video’s rank for the keywords and region that you chose, allowing this result to be shared and is constantly updated whenever a new user accesses it!
